Some Plywood Terminology
Premium Face: A clear face veneer all splices tight & sound. Occasional small pin knots--most species are book matched or slip matched.
Good Face: Face veneers but don't always match perfectly, sound back.
Shop: Includes downfall from premium face panels and plywood suitable for cuttings with some waste. Usually a damaged corner or edge-possible a misplaced veneer.
A-2: Premium face veneer with a #2 back same species on back. The "2" face veneer is the same as import sound back or "G2S".
A-3: Premium face veneer with a #2 back same species on back. The "2" face veneer is the same as import sound back or "G2S".
A-B: Sound one side; solid back.
A-C: Sound one side; C grade back.
A-D: Sound one side; D grade back.
Shop: Factory seconds, degrade from A-A, A-B, A-C, etc. Sanded on both sides.
